Being a Fit Dad 40 plus you may start to notice that your memory is not as good as it used to be. This unfortunately is normal since your brain starts to shrink in size after 40 which impacts your memory and focus. There are some things you can do to minimize the memory loss and increase focus.
It can be broken into 2 parts – Diet and Lifestyle Management

Diet:

Here are some foods that will help improve your memory:

Blueberries -loaded with antioxidants that neutralize free radicals

Wild Salmon– loaded with DHA and EPA which are vital for brain function and development

Almonds– boosts vitamin E which low levels are associated with cognitive decline

Avocados– contain high quantities of monounsaturated fatty acids which helps sharpen your memory

Dark Chocolate– contains Flavanoids which improves blood flow in the brain resulting in improving cognitive function

Kidney Beans- have more Omega 3’s than regular beans

Sleep- for healthy brain adults 40+ should get between 7 to 9 hours of sleep per night.

Learn New Skills

Brain Boosting Activities such as puzzles, sudoku, crossword, chess, etc

Aerobic Exercise – sends much needed oxygen to to the brain

Reading- increases mental stimulation and allows new neurons to be produced in the brain.
